Registered Psychotherapist

Experience/interest in working with couples or children preferred

We're looking for another Psychotherapist to join our team!  You will work with clients experiencing a variety of psychosocial challenges and will provide assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing psychotherapy.  We currently have a need for a therapist who can work with couples or children/youth, so experience in one of these areas is a definite asset!  This would be an in-person position, working out our office in Carleton Place, approximately 1-2 days/week to start (with opportunity to grow if desired).  Some hybrid work is possible, but ability to work in-person with clients is a must!

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings

  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy to clients using various therapeutic modalities

  • Collaborate with clients to set goals and monitor progress throughout the treatment process

  • Utilize case management skills to coordinate care with other healthcare professionals

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards

  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in the field of psychotherapy

  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience providing psychotherapy 

  • Experience working with a variety of presenting issues

  • Experience working with couples (asset)

  • Experience working with children 6-12 and teens (asset)

  • Master's degree in Counselling Psychology (or equivalent)

  • Registration with the CRPO (or equivalent) in good standing

  • Professional liability insurance (or ability to obtain)

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Initiative, organizational skills & ability to work independently

  • Knowledge and ability to work within CRPO Standard's of Practice and Ethical Guidelines

  • Risk evaluation and crisis intervention skills

  • Ability to dedicate weekly time to the position (1-2 days/week to start)

  • Ability to work in-person
