Couples Therapy
A supportive space to strengthen connection, communication, and understanding.

We offer couples therapy in Carleton Place for partners seeking support with relationship challenges, communication, and emotional connection. Sessions are collaborative, non-judgmental, and grounded in evidence-based approaches, helping couples move toward healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
What is couples therapy?
Relationships can be deeply meaningful—and also deeply challenging. Couples therapy provides a dedicated space for partners to explore patterns, navigate conflict, and better understand one another with the support of a trained couples therapist.

Therapy focuses on strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and creating new ways of relating that feel more connected and respectful.

What to expect
Intake and Assessment
Couples therapy begins with an initial intake session to understand your relationship history, current concerns, strengths, and goals. This session also helps determine whether the therapist is a good fit for both partners.

Sometimes, each person is also seen for their own assessment session in order to get a more detailed picture of what is going on for each individual. From there, both people decide if they would like to move forward with couples sessions.

Follow-Up Therapy Sessions
Follow-up sessions focus on exploring core issues, identifying unhelpful cycles and patterns of communication, building intimacy and trust, and developing strategies to support connection and repair.
In-person & virtual options
Couples therapy is offered in person or by video. In-person sessions take place in our private office in Carleton Place, while virtual sessions offer flexibility and secure access from anywhere. If virtual, couples have the option of joining together or from their own devices.
