The Perinatal Wellness Project
Supporting families through pregnancy, postpartum, and every step of the transition into parenthood.
The Perinatal Wellness Project is a community-focused initiative by JNM Wellness that brings together specialized perinatal mental health care, education, affordable therapy, and opportunities for meaningful connection. Our mission is simple: to reduce barriers to care, strengthen community, and help every family feel supported through one of life's biggest transitions.
Therapy • Education • Community • Connection
Every family deserves a village
The transition into parenthood can be one of life's most meaningful experiences—but it can also be one of the most challenging.
Many parents experience anxiety, depression, identity changes, relationship challenges, grief, overwhelm, or simply the feeling that they're expected to figure it all out on their own. Unfortunately, accessing specialized mental health support isn't always easy. Financial barriers, long waitlists, limited availability of trained clinicians, and social isolation can prevent families from getting help when they need it most.
The Perinatal Wellness Project exists to change that.
Our goal is to build a stronger network of support for families in our community by making specialized care more accessible while creating opportunities for parents to connect, learn, and support one another.
A new model of perinatal support
We believe supporting families takes more than counselling alone. That's why the Perinatal Wellness Project combines specialized therapy, education, affordable care, and community connection into one integrated program.
Specialized Perinatal Therapy
Our therapists have specialized training in perinatal mental health and understand the unique emotional experiences that can arise during pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, NICU experiences, parenting transitions, and partner adjustment.
Support is available for individuals, couples, and families in-person in Carleton Place or virtually across Ontario.
Affordable Care
Everyone deserves access to quality mental health care.
The Perinatal Wellness Project is committed to reducing financial barriers by offering:
-
Tiered pricing options
-
Lower-cost sessions with supervised clinicians
-
A Sponsor a Family initiative to help provide subsidized therapy for families experiencing financial hardship
Because getting support shouldn't depend on your financial circumstances.
Education & Workshops
Knowledge can make an enormous difference during the transition into parenthood.
We offer educational workshops for expecting and new parents, healthcare providers, workplaces, and community organizations on topics including:
-
Preparing emotionally for postpartum
-
Perinatal anxiety and depression
-
Supporting your partner
-
Building your village
-
Self-care that actually works during early parenthood
-
Returning to work after parental leave
-
Pregnancy and infant loss
Our goal is to help families recognize concerns early, reduce stigma, and know when and how to seek support.
Support Groups & Community
Healing doesn't only happen in therapy.
One of the most important parts of the Perinatal Wellness Project is creating opportunities for parents to meet one another, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships.
Through support groups, community events, and educational programming, we're helping create a local village where families can find connection long after a workshop or therapy session ends.
Because parenting was never meant to be done alone.

Sponsor a mom initiative
Helping build the village every mom deserves
The transition into motherhood is one of life's most significant changes, but no mom should have to navigate it alone—or without access to the support she needs.
The Sponsor a Mom Initiative is JNM Wellness' commitment to helping build the village every mom deserves. Through the Perinatal Wellness Project, we provide free and significantly reduced-cost therapy for moms experiencing financial barriers, with the goal of making specialized perinatal mental health care more accessible within our community.
Together, we're creating a community where women support women, barriers are reduced, and every mom has the opportunity to feel seen, supported, and connected.
Women Supporting Women: Building a Village Together
The heart of the Perinatal Wellness Project is the belief that we are stronger when we support one another.
When a family chooses Specialized Care or Supervised Care, they become part of something bigger: helping another mom access the support she may not otherwise be able to afford.
Through our 10:1 Sponsor a Mom commitment, JNM Wellness sponsors one mom with free or significantly reduced-cost therapy for every 10 families who choose these care options.
It's one small way we can build the village—creating a community where moms support moms, families support families, and no one has to navigate the transition into parenthood alone.
